Zonta Club of Farmington Novi Advocacy Summit
September 25, 2018
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
First Step’s Karen Wilson Smithbauter Center
4400 S. Venoy, Wayne, MI, 48184
Join Zonta, First Step and local law enforcement for important information on an innovative program to increase Domestic Violence victim safety and offender accountability.
Who should attend?
Advocates, law enforcement, health care professionals and concerned community members, Zonta and other community service club members and family members are urged to attend.
Why should you attend?
In 2016, First Step and the Canton, Dearborn and Taylor Police Departments received a training and technical assistance grant from MNADV (Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence) to begin implementing the LAP Program in Wayne County. Since that time, over 1,200 High Danger victims have been identified in those three communities and given the opportunity to immediately connect with a First Step advocate to receive advanced safety planning information. Attending this summit will give you the necessary information to help you advocate for the use of the LAP Program in your own communities.
There is no cost to attend this program, but donations are appreciated.
