For 40 years, First Step has been working to end domestic and sexual violence in Southeast Michigan by providing free, confidential and comprehensive services to survivors and their families. What many of us do not know is how close to home violence can come. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime and every 98 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted.

Together, we can change the lives of survivors and their families. Together, we can help bring safety to those fleeing violence seeking peace for themselves and their children.
