For many families, the holidays are their favorite time of year, as friends, family and loved ones gather for a special meal and exchange gifts.  However, for those who do not have a safe, peaceful home or gifts for their children, the holiday season can be full of fear and sadness.

By adopting a family, you will be empowering survivors to take a small step towards independence. By clicking the button below, you will be able to select the family size you would like to adopt this holiday. We will use these donated funds to purchase gift cards for the family.

These gift cards will give our families the dignity to purchase gifts for their children and prepare a special meal to help make the shelter feel more like home.

You may also purchase items off our Holiday Wish List. By purchasing these items, you will help us meet the basic needs of the families who come to First Step throughout the year. However, this is especially helpful during the influx of need we see during the holiday season. Our General Holiday Wish List is available here. In addition, monetary donations, whether cash, check or gift cards, help to support the free services we offer to those who come to us for help. Your donation will ensure that we will always be able to keep our doors open to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Your gift, no matter the size, will help First Step reach those in our community who have been impacted by these crimes. Your ongoing support means that First Step can continue to help survivors, not just during this special time of year, but all year long.
