YOU CAN HELP OVERCOME THE PROBLEM OF VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD

Your support will help shine a light on the problem of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community.

For the safety of our community, First Step’s in-person ‘You Are the Light Gala’ is being reorganized to a live, virtual event. The event will be hosted the same evening: Friday, September 25th at 7:00p.

Though not how we originally anticipated it to be, we are really excited to share this night with you virtually. We know these times have been hard for everyone; our programs have been impacted as well. The Gala is First Step’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we hope you can join us during our live event.

Sponsor-level donations will be recognized throughout the virtual program, and in place of tickets, we have a new ‘Give What You Can’ donation level. Anyone that donates at the sponsor level or ‘Give What You Can’ before the event will receive exclusive updates regarding online auction items, program speakers, and more. We are hoping those who were planning to attend our in-person event considers pre-registering and attending.

By purchasing an event sponsorship or donating to the “First Step You Are the Light Gala,” you ensure that when a victim of domestic or sexual violence reaches out for help, First Step will be there.

First Step stands ready to help survivors who need support to transform their lives from fear and trauma to hope and safety, but we need your help.

Your support of this gala will provide free services, such as shelter, transitional housing, counseling, legal information, children’s programs, assault response, food, transportation and advocacy. First Step even has a program for the pets of the families in shelter, so that furry loved ones don’t get left behind.

We will be presenting awards and celebrating the work of key people who have made a significant contribution to First Step’s mission.
